Suspending Disbelief

This blog has been largely ignored and it’s time I get back on since there’s a lot to get off my chest. For starters, I am going to begin posting interviews and episodes of Canary Cry Radio along with some more thoughts and commentary exclusively for the blog.

Canary Cry Radio Interview with Brian Godawa

I got to have a great conversation with award winning author and screenwriter Brian Godawa. He is the author of the Chronicles of the Nephilim, a fast moving fantasy-fiction that portrays a deeper understanding of the Old Testament characters through the use of fiction. Some of these ideas don’t jive with what Christians traditionally understand about topics regarding what I’m going to call the Nephilim Paradigm (N.P.). The storyline, characters, places, and situations are drawn from the Bible and other Ancient Near East scriptures. But the great thing is that this platform allows for the discussion to take place about the NP in a non-intrusive way.

In 1817, Samuel Taylor Coleridge coined the phrase “suspend disbelief” while describing his approach to poetry. This is great description of what I believe is a healthy practice to do in proper context because we as humans tend to do this anyway. We as humans have the insatiable urge to entertain ourselves. We do it as a means of comfort and relaxation. An escape from the real world. In fact, this mode of thinking is precisely what I believe author Neil Postman in his book, Amusing Ourselves to Death was describing; A world in which is not threatened by scarcity, but rather “drowned in a sea of irrelevance.” This is the very crux of the satanic temptation; being financially free to have all the time to do what “I” want to do. The scary thing is that it has permeated the church!

So it should be no surprise that on the day Obama calls for a brain mapping project a majority of Christians yawn and carry on with their own daily agendas. I know that sounds mean but it’s simply my reflection of some personal experiences. In fact, to comment on this matter, I don’t believe a majority of Christians are ignoring such issues on purpose. I believe the platter upon which the traditional Protestant Christian view has been served was missing a vital piece to the puzzle and it starts with Genesis 6 and the N.P.. Because of the this flaw, Christians don’t particularly know or understand how to deal with topics like bran mapping when it hits the wires. This loss for any sense of understanding leads to complacency which is why I think many Christians simply brush off these issues.

But there is something brewing that both myself and others are beginning to see. A sort of revival that is largely driven by internet ministries. A movement of young people who are able to consume the N.P. largely because they have grown up in a society where suspending one’s disbelief is a pass time. The downfall to this of course is that they are constantly distracted and indoctrinated into poor theology and occult philosophies. The upside is that they can take in the N.P. without too much prejudice. In just the last several months, I have had many people contact me with stories of how the topic of the sons of God and the Nephilim brought them back to the church, the Bible, and Jesus. Not only is it “new and exciting” but I think it’s precisely the kind of topic that resonates because it’s true and it helps people understand the Bible and God better.

There is a profound connection between the world we live in now, the largely forgotten ancient history of man, and what the Bible reveals to us regarding this massive epic we are a part of. This is a point I would like to press upon. Our history is far more fantastic then we ever thought. And God’s story is far more powerful and epic than than our own individual lives.

Our own individual lives are a mere hair on the brush that God is using to paint His masterpiece. Even the most painful and tragic moments we all experience are somehow being made into an integral part of the entirety of God’s epic. But we must shift our thinking from focusing on what God can do for us (which is still important: healing, comfort, wisdom, etc), and ask what God’s will for us is. Okay, a little Kennedy there; but you get the point. I believe we are in a time where we will witness a revival in the interest of the Bible and Jesus due to the rise of watchmen all over the planet. But it is my contention that this will have a dark side to it as well. What we read in Bible prophecy is unsettling to say the least.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 says: “Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, hunless the rebellion comes first, and ithe man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction…”

Of course the word there translated “rebellion” is in fact apostasy:

GK G686 | S G646   ἀποστασία   apostasia  a falling away, a rebellion, apostasy

Surely a rebellion against the truth has been a part of society throughout history, especially since God Himself became a man two millennia ago. But this falling away has something else that is associated to it.

We read in Revelation 16:6, 17:6, and 18:24 about the blood of the saints. Without getting into a deep word study, most scholars agree that this is the blood of martyred in the end times by the Antichrist. While pretribulationists submit the idea that this will only apply to those who becomes believers after the rapture, I believe instead that this is going to be the ultimate manifestation of evil and hate against the truth where millions of believers across the planet make a stand in the name of Jesus, only to lose their lives. It takes a particular mindset to arrive at a place where one is willing to give up his or her own life for the sake of defending a belief. But what I believe we may be seeing in the rise of watchmen across the planet, is just that; a generation who is going to be the most on-fire disciples in human history who make the ultimate stand against the wiles of the devil. And so what we may be seeing in the near future, sadly, is the further separation and distinction between being true disciples of Jesus, and those who are only selling Jesus as a brand. In fact, it may come to pass that even the ecumenical institutions themselves will play a role in drinking the cup of iniquity. But some words of encouragement from Paul:

It says in Romans 12:12: “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”

I went all over the place today. Let me tie this all back to the Brian Godawa interview. I think what Brian is doing has a role in this larger endeavor. Science-fiction-fantasy of the Old Testament; simply brilliant. The N.P. requires one to suspend disbelief and because we live in a generation that does so on a regular basis, it’s a great time to be injecting truth into this medium. In fact, what I find interesting is that packaging God’s epic through science-fiction-fantasy is actually reducing the level of reality that God’s word gives us so that it can be ingested slowly. Again, it seems that because God is so good, truth is far stranger than fiction.

UPDATE

Spiritual warfare is real. As I had about 30 minutes of AODII (Age of Deceit II) completed on my Macbook Pro, something happened last week, my worst fears. My hard drive failed. Not great for a laptop that’s not even a year old. And while I certainly ran it hard with all of my applications, it should not have died so soon. But I wouldn’t mind so much unless a lot of my work was saved on it…which it was. I lost many pages of writing I had done in preparation for the conference, AODII, and books and articles I have been working on. On one hand, I was naive to think my hard drive would last a year without having to back it up. But on the other, I believe this is just a hit from the enemy and doesn’t deserve the kind of anger and disappointment I would normally be subject to under such circumstances.

The positive thing is that I am back up and running, and I am starting over with the film and all of my projects. My prayer is that God will make all this work even better than what originally would have been had  this not have happened. Thanks to anyone who supported me through prayers and donations to get things up and running again.

God’s DNA Upgrade

It wasn’t long ago that I was totally emersed in new age teachings of David Icke, David Wilcock, Project Camelot, Jordan Maxwell and the like. This came at a time just a couple years after I was saved. I figured, if the Bible is true, then there should be an answer to all of these so called “new age teachings” I was finding online. The unfortunate thing was that I didn’t find the answers at my home church. Consequently, I began to seriously question my new found faith. Maybe it was all a hoax after all and Christianity was a farce as I had thought most of my life.

One thing that was really intriguing to me was the teaching of David Wilcock and his theory that we will all experience a DNA upgrade when on December 21, 2012 a wave of conscious energy emanating from the center of the galaxy will hit our solar system and effectively hit the earth changing our DNA instantaneously. Wilcock called this the ascension. Many other new age teachers and preachers have similar concepts they promote.

THE ROOTS

We know that at the core of all new age teaching are the mystery religions. We can trace this back to the tower of Babel where Nimrod ruled. In Genesis 11:6, the Word states “And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.” At this point, God scrambled the languages and the people dispersed. What resulted were many cultures and religions each having their own version of the “secret teachings.” Whatever Nimrod knew at the tower of Babel, it was something that God had to put an end to.

This concept of exclusive knowledge goes back to the Garden of Eden and one of the three main lies of Satan as well. In Genesis 3:5 it states, “For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” This was a lie because with God walking with us in the Garden, our eyes were already opened in a sense. In effect, the second part of that lie, “ye shall be as gods” is also the source of all new age teachings. I cover this a lot in my film AGE OF DECEIT: Fallen Angels and the New World Order.

ASCENSION

So getting back to the teachings of David Wilcock’s ascension idea, let’s briefly look at the “evidence” he uses to promote this idea. At the top of one David Wilcock’s many articles reads:

“Imminent, spontaneous energetic transformation of our entire Solar System?

DNA written into the fabric of the Cosmos as a waveform?

A scientific case for a new, Galaxy-wide model of human evolution?

Yes.” [1]

Without getting into quoting all of Wilcock’s material let me give you a brief overview of each one of these topics and what the “evidence” is for each case.

Imminent, spontaneous energetic transformation of our entire Solar System?

Wilcock here uses current scientific research to suggest that we are all living in a specific frequency of energy density. In other words, much like we can’t see into the electro magnetic field, or infrared, our line of perception only lies in a small sliver of reality. Much of his speculations about ascended masters, aliens, high spiritual beings, the higher self, etc come form the idea that they live in higher densities of reality, or higher frequencies of existence.

While this is true to some regard, I would contend that what Wilcock is essentially describing is the spiritual world. We can compare what Wilcock is trying to say with what Dr. Michael Heiser has pointed out as the description of the word “Elohim.” Dr. Heiser on his website The Divine Council talks about how the word Elohim, while most believe is just another name for God, includes some other entities in the Old Testament. Dr. Heiser states:

“Demons and the spirits of the human dead are also called elohim in the Hebrew text! Angels may also be called elohim, depending on how one takes a text or two. If we don’t come to grips with just what an elohim is, it can create a lot of confusion. We can’t very well have God, the gods, demons, angels, and the spirits of dead people all interchangeable with respect to their attributes! That just makes no sense—and highlights why understanding the term elohim as denoting a certain plane of existence is so critical to getting the Bible’s worldview and its theology right.” ~Dr.Heiser~

So it’s interesting to note that what the Bible seems to describe as a spiritual world, where angels, demons, and even what appear to be the spirit of the dead roam, Wilcock refers to as “higher densities.” The Bible does talk about the first, second and third heaven. Wilcock’s spiritual realms are divided up to at least 7 densities where the highest is the “divine cosmos” which is his term for God.

But what Wilcock presents as part of this “spontaneous energetic transformation” is that our entire solar system, including ourselves, are going to evolve in an instant, in “the twinkling of an eye” into a higher density. While I don’t have the direct quote, I’ve even heard Wilcock go as far to say that as long as one is 51% of service to others and not service to self, they will be included in this upgrade.

DNA written into fabric of the Cosmos as a waveform?

Wilcock’s “theology” comes from a pantheistic view of the world. Therefore, consciousness is God. His theory is that this consciousness, which is God is, manifests itself as waveforms in the physical world of our density, and as a way to “speak” into our existence forms DNA. Wilcock even goes as far to say that anywhere where there is space-time-matter-energy, this conscious mind is forming DNA. He uses examples of molten hot chambers spontaneously creating forms of bacteria, or how there are similar sea creatures at both the north and south pole indicating that the earth’s consciousness forms life on this planet and the poles are where this consciousness is leaking out. This idea stems from what we looked at previously about a cosmic chain of entities starting with consciousness. Wilcock uses this theory to suggest that Galaxies are living entities with a conscious mind. Then solar systems, then planet, then us.

In many ways, this is sort of a new age twist to what God tells us strictly in the Scriptures as Him speaking the world into existence. God is the author of this universe. He is also the author of consciousness. I am positive He is conscious, but to suggest that therefore, the galaxy, the sun and the earth to also be conscious entities is a bit of a stretch. What Wilcock is basically saying is that because these planets and stars a higher evolved conscious entities, we will soon becomes like “them.” I don’t know about you, but do you think humanity will ever “evolve” to a point where we have a hive mind and become “gods” in a sense that we are a large lump of rock? Doesn’t sound too exciting is you ask me.

A scientific case for a new, Galaxy-wide model of human evolution?

So this is a kicker. As I mentioned before, according to Wilcock, the galaxy is spewing out rings of energy that will hit the earth and instantaneously evolve us to a higher consciousness. The data he uses to back this up are interesting. First, he shows how there is a cycle of magnetic energy in the solar system that comes every 26,000 years. He then shows how every planet is getting hotter and hotter in the last several decades. According to Wilcock, this indicates the energy rings from the galaxy getting closer to our solar system. He then uses research from obscure russian scientists to show his “proof.” My favorite one is where Wilcock explain how these Russian scientists took the embryo of a salamander, shot a non-burning laser through it, and then shot that laser to a frog embryo. What apparently happened was, the frog embryo turned into a salamander. The idea is that the code for our make up is in the DNA and this energy blast from the galaxy is going to change us, just in the same way the frog turned into a salamander.

God’s DNA Upgrade

So after all of this beating around the bush about what may or may not happen at December 21, 2012 and even more, the DNA upgrade from a conscious living galaxy and the whole bid, Wilcock fails to realize that the real DNA upgrade was promised to us from our heavenly Father.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sina for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

~2 Corinthians 5:17-21~

“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”

~1 Peter 1:23~

“So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body…As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven. I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality…”

~1 Corinthians 15:42-54~

So in Christ Yeshua, we are a “new creation.” Some translations call it, “new creature.” When we are born again we become born of the spirit and of heaven. Our destructible and decaying bodies become incorruptible and indestructible. It is the only way we can be in the presence of God. In other words, God’s DNA upgrade to us is going to be quite remarkable. We are effectively going to be like Him!

I say all these things not to condemn David Wilcock because I sincerely think he is trying to find truth. If Wilcock supporters or David himself saw this post, I’m sure he would chalk it up to someone who doesn’t understand his teachings. While I will admit I don’t do it full justice since I was trying to sum up years of David’s research in a single blog post, the gist of it remains the same. We must pray for him to see the true light and the source of life, which is not consciousness, but Yeshua alone.

Update: Age of Deceit DVD, Prayer, and Current Project

Age of Deceit: Fallen Angels and the New World Order DVD Release

The month of January has been quite busy (which is a blessing) and so I have not had a chance to post here. But I am happy to announce that the Age of Deceit movie has been released on Amazon and Createspace for purchase, and so if you feel so obligated, please get a copy there. I made this movie not to make money, but to spread the Gospel. But because so many people requested the DVD, I wanted to make it available to you in that way. Thank you so much for the support, critiques, and even criticism of the film. I’ve found that not only has it helped many people pick their bibles back up, or for the first time, but it has helped me refine my research methods, and conviction of learning more about God through His Word.

Apologetics

I have been diving deep into the topic of Christian apologetics, and rightfully so since you can imagine the different attacks and topics of conversations I have received on Christianity after releasing this film. One source that is the mother of all sources regarding Christian apologetics is the website Apologetics 315. I think it’s a website that every Christian should at least check out. I don’t feel like many of us know why we believe what we believe, or know how to defend the faith. It’s not only scriptural to do so (1 Peter 3:15), but also the most essential tool in evangelism and just everyday conversation with non-believers and believers alike.

On Prayer

One reason why I have been so busy is because I am facilitator of a ten week small group being held at my church. It’s called “Rooted” and it’s designed to be a ten week small group experience that draws us closer to God.

As I was going through this weeks lesson/homework on prayer (yes we have homework), I was struck by a couple of points that needed to be addressed. First, I am very skeptical of any “program” that promotes a prayer experience as something that is meant to be a two way conversation with God. In other words, slogans like, “Learn to hear God’s voice,” or “What is God saying to you in this moment?” are the type of questions that make me cringe. This is not because I don’t believe God can speak to us; I fully believe that God not only does, but He does so constantly. My issue is with “seeking God’s voice” in essence is two fold. One, it’s not scriptural. We don’t find anywhere in the bible where we are told that there is a discipline for listening to God speak to us. God certainly speaks to people all throughout the bible, but it never says, “stop and listen to what God might be trying to tell you.” This is not found in the bible. Second, how are we suppose to know it’s from God? As someone who has looked into the new age, and alternative spirituality, people constantly “hear” voices, or have intuitions, or a gut feeling, or any number of things that can easily be labeled, “God” or “Spirit.” A line that drove me out of my seat was as follows: “But how can we be sure it is God speaking? We can know because thoughts will come into our minds that we know didn’t come from us. They will be consistent with His Word and what He wants for us.”

Now let me break this down a bit. Again, it should be obvious that having “thoughts com[ing] into our minds” by no meas verifies it is from God. To be fair, half of the next line does try to help fill the gap by suggesting it needs to be consistent with scripture. But this begs the question,; scripture according to who? Well the answer is God of course. But how can we be sure? It all goes back to proper application of hermeneutics and exegesis. If it is consistent with scripture according to the people who promote A Course In Miracles, then you might as well go ahead and join the closest new age cult. Second, how are we suppose to know what God wants for us in our lives? We can have an idea. But what God wants for us is to have a relationship with Him and that relationship is made through prayer, the one way kind. Not the conversational kind. Throughout the Psalms, it is pretty clear that we as people cry out to God in the stance of worship, praise, doubt, tension, confusion, and any other life circumstance.

The other thing that bothered me about the lessons was the lack of mention of Satan. I don’t mean this in a “giving credit to Satan” kind of way, but more as a way of discernment. The book went through several ways in which God speaks to us. Creation, people, circumstance, and the Word, and I have no problem with this idea. But it only mentioned a warning under “circumstances” because “Satan can influence us in our circumstances.” Actually, he can influence us in all of the same ways God communicates with us. I go back to 2 Corinthians 11 that speaks about Satan masquerading as an angel of light.

So in conclusion to my thoughts on prayer here, I think it’s vitally important for us to have a good and honest prayer life, speaking to God and praying to Him, praising Him and giving thanks to Him in all situations. But I also think we are to go to God with our prayers in times of struggle, in times of need and in times of doubt and hardship. God tends to use those moments in our lives as a means to draw us closer to Him. But don’t except to “hear” anything from God. He will speak to us on His terms, in His time line. Not ours.

Current Project: Demons in Japan

I am not sure if this is going to be a short film, a book, or something much larger, but I have recently been reading several Japanese mythology and folklore and was taken back by the amount of demonic presence in these writings. If you don’t know already, I am a second generation Japanese American, which means I was born and raised in America, but my folks immigrated from Japan. As such, I have a certain desire to learn more about my ancestral homeland of Japan.

As I went through the Koji Tales, which are the creation accounts of the Shinto religion in Japan, my curiosity was raised as there were several ironic parallels to the creation account in Genesis, but only twisted and highly demonized. It led me to seek out other folklore and myths famous in Japan. What I have been finding is that most of these mythologies and folklore involve ghosts, demons, shape shifting animals, goblins, and all sorts of supernatural phenomena. The level of superstition that is in these stories is uncanny. I find it interesting because it seems to have two levels of significance. One, because of the superstitious nature of Japanese culture, the people are very spiritual and are earnest seekers of spiritual things. I believe that Japan is spiritual, but that they are suppressed by fallen angels and demonic forces who have dominion over the territory of Japan. And two, because of the deep desire to connect at the spiritual level, it is a gold mine for the Gospel. I believe the reason why the Gospel has not been as successful in Japan is because of the nature of evangelism. Because historically, Christianity in Japan is only known through Roman Catholicism, and really the invasion of the West as depicted in that Tom Cruise movie The Last Samurai, there is a stigma attached to Jesus.

Again, I’m not sure where this research is going to lead me, but I know God will steer it into the direction of His will. I apologize for the lack of updates and the choppy writing of this post, but I hope to continue with more frequent posts as 2012 unfolds. God Bless.
