Recently on the Disney channel a new season of a show called, “My Babysitter’s a Vampire” began airing. It’s bad enough that they glorify vampires as the good guys/gals. But this last episode was over the top with occult-illuminist symbolism. So let me outline the plot. A new girl shows up to school and begins to hypnotize all the boys in the school to be a part of her entourage. They get so entrenched in it, that they begin walking around without their shirts off, a sun symbol drawn on their chest and chanting some ancient mantra. The two male main characters get caught up in the fiasco while the two female main characters begin to suspect that something is not right with the new girl. They uncover that the new girl whose hypnotizing all the guys is in fact an ancient goddess trying to resurrect her husband who is the sun-god. She kept referring to which one of the guys would be eligible to be the “chosen one.” At the end of the show, one of the side characters get’s “chosen.” After the hypnotized guys run around the high school campus worshipping a crystal skull, the ceremony begins.
Essentially, the sun rays shoot through the window and onto the crystal skull which begins to move towards the “chosen one” to resurrect the sun god. At the end, the two female vampires come in to save the day.
Now call me a conspiracy theorist, call me fundamentalist, call me crazy, call me insane, but anyone who doesn’t see the blatant symbolism here is blind to the times. Our kids are watching these shows thinking it’s cool to be heroic vampires and resurrecting sun-gods running around with crystal skulls. While I’ve always known that Disney was stooped in the occult, catching a glimpse like this just makes me wonder; “What on earth are our followers of Yeshua doing to expose our children to such occult minded topics?” I also couldn’t help but pray for the actors and actresses of shows like these. Little do they realize that they are falling prey to satanic rituals, opening up doorways to the demonic right on screen.
While I’ve taken a small break from going through Matthew 24, I thought I’d pick it up again where we left off. Matthew 24:8 is simply the verse that tells us that all things Jesus has mentioned prior to verse 8 are the beginning of sorrows:
“All these things are the beginning of sorrows.” ~Matthew 24:8~
A short word study is in order. The word for “all” is “panta” in the Greek and it simply means “all, the whole, every kind.” The word for “beginning” is “arché” and it means “ruler, beginning, starting, point, initial point.” And finally, the word used for “birth pangs” or “sorrows” is the word “ōdinōn” which means “the pain of childbirth, acute pain, severe agony, a snare.” It’s interesting how that last word is used in context to child birth, but also conveys severe pain and even “a snare” as if it will be the beginning of some kind of trap. This makes sense because the rule of the Antichrist when he hits the scene will be that of entrapment. While no matter how serene and peaceful it may appear at the beginning, ultimately the wrath of the Antichrist will be that of a snare.
Just a quick update. We are preparing to put together a kickstarter campaign to raise money for Doug Hamps Corrupting the Image documentary. We really want to make this documentary cool with some imagery that is new and fresh for the body of Christ but also something new agers and others can see as the glory of Yeshua. So please visit corruptingtheimage.com for more details.
Also, I am currently working on gathering materials for writing out my own take on the rapture debate. Essentially, I’m coming into the topic with no theological dog in the hunt so to speak. Since I am a new believer in a sense (6 years) I don’t have the dogma or doctrine that many folks who grew up in the church have. I’m actually going to take advantage of this unique life situation to parse out where I end up on the whole rapture timing.
And finally, we plan to have Rob Skiba on Canary Cry Radio next week so stay tuned for that. I have also been asked to be on his show Revolution Radio Project next wednesday night. After long conversations with Rob and his wife Sheila in Branson, I am beginning to open up to a whole new world of Biblical truths that I think are going to be interesting. I will start talking about some of these truths I find as I settle into them for they are new and difficult for even myself to swallow.
